Silk scarf | Anzac Memorial | poppy
$180.00
Designed exclusively for the Anzac Memorial. The Poppy design draws inspiration from both in Flanders Fields and from a postcard that Private Charles Smith (60th Batallion) sent home to his wife before he was killed in action on 8 August 1918.
During the First World War, Anzacs stationed in France would buy postcards featuring silk embroidery to send home to their loved ones. The embroidered poppy featured in this design comes from a postcard in the Anzac Memorial Collection.
