Purity is a precious gift that embodies a delicate interplay between form, symbolism, and materiality.
Comprising 49 handmade imperial porcelain ivy leaf shapes, arranged with precision on brushed satin gold acrylic, this 1m x 1m piece explores the intricate relationships between growth, connection, and transformation.
The purity of porcelain, with its ethereal fragility and strength, reflects the dualities inherent in human experience - our vulnerability and resilience, individuality, and interconnectedness.
The ivy leaf, a recurring motif, serves as a metaphor for eternity, fidelity, and enduring bonds. Its climbing nature symbolizes love, friendship, and determination, while the slip cast repetition of each leaf suggests both the collective power of community and the singular journey of everyone.
Through the rhythmic balance of organic and geometric forms, this work invites contemplation of the subtle yet profound ways we evolve and progress.
It speaks to the eternal cycles of growth and change, as well as the precious, enduring connections that sustain us along the way.
At its core, “Purity is a precious gift” it is an invitation to reflect on the beauty of transformation - both personal and communal and to recognize the strength found in unity, even as we traverse our own unique paths.
