The Purple Poppy honours the loyalty, courage and service of animals that have supported military operations in both war and peace.
Created by New Zealand artist and photographer Martin De Ruyter, this gorgeous brooch is formed out of repurposed brass bullet casings to create a truly unique symbol of remembrance.
Initially taught how to crate trench art out of English pence coins by his grandfather James Fisher, Martin crafts each of these brooches by hand, making each one totally unique.
